Liebster Awards | Blogger Nomination | Q & A

Picture: http://emilyrosevass.com/

Oh hi :)

I hope y'all are well and enjoying all of your Easter eggs? (If you celebrate Easter that is)

I had a small Rolo one off my rents ha ha but also £10 which was nice of them, so I went ahead and bought two sterling silver rings from ShopDixi (who do the most amazing jewellery ever). The rings were £25 each and I got them for £9.95 inc P and P.

Freaking score.

Ooohh, I am currently working with Shopdixi so if you fancy 10% off your order quote LELUXDIXI at the till. You're welcome.

Okay, so onto the post, I have been nominated by the lovely and beautiful Beth Chudley for the Liebster Blogger Awards. She is such an amazing person and has an awesome blog over @ Littlecapsulewardrobe . I have also been nominated by Robyn Samantha  today but I had already written this post, so thank you for nominating me also. You beautiful people. :)

This is an award I have never heard of until I was nominated by Beth and it is such a good way to know the blogger you're investing your time in.
It's an online award given to bloggers by bloggers which is super cool because it helps build relationships and invite others to check out what you're up to.

We all love a bit of recognition, right?

Of course.

The main question is, how does this whole thing work?

Once you have been nominated by myself or anyone else you need to do the following:

. Thank the blogger who nominated you (politeness goes a long way).

. Answer the 11 questions that are set to you by the person who nominated you (provided at the end of the post).

.Share 11 random facts about yourself (that won't be hard for me. Ha.)

. And finally, nominate up to 11 other bloggers who you think 100% deserves the award and ask them 11 new questions of your own.

It's time to get creative.

Beth asked me the following questions...

1. What made you want to start to blog?

For me, I started it years ago when I watched that programme with Billie Piper in it, Belle De Jour? The working girl who started an anonymous blog. I found it interesting but it fizzled out. I then picked it up again at uni whilst doing my journalism course and carried it on fully when I was made redundant from my job. It's remained in my life and I love what I am doing.

2. If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?

This is a hard one to answer because there is a lot I would like. I used to say I would love to read minds, but I think that would get confusing as hell with all those little voices in your head. So for me I think it would to control time, like Bernard's Watch - does anyone remember that programme? I could stop it, forward it, rewind time to avoid mistakes, look into the future. It would be amazing.

3. What type of blog posts are your favourite to photograph?

Ooohhh another hard question as I love taking pictures full stop. I think for me currently my favourite to photograph has got to be my makeup looks. I love to experiment and beauty is no exception. I love doing close ups and catching the 'mood' in a picture. Yeah, it's got to be that.

4. Summer or Winter?

I always used to say Summer is my favourite time of year as it's my birthday season and the sun makes everyone happy. This has changed slightly because I have now occurred hay fever over the last few years and it ruins my Spring/Summer. I have it from around March time up until Oct and I get it bad. I mean no one has got time for me snotting everywhere. Ha. So in the summer I have to stay indoors a lot. :( So for me I totally love winter for the simple fact my hay fever goes away and it's freaking CHRISTMAS TIME. :D

5. What would your dream career be?

Beth, these questions are hard. Ha.

I am a performer deep down so I would like to say my dream career would to be a singer with a huge fan base and sold out concerts. That aside I would love to be a major blogger or working with animals. I have a lot of interests so I couldn't just pick one career as my 100% dream, if I had to pick one that slightly outweighed, it would be a performer.

6. What TV shows are you bingeing on at the moment/recently?

PLL (Pretty Little Liars) is a show I am addicted to although I no longer have Netflix as I am in between jobs at the moment, so I haven't caught the latest series. I am dying to though. I am also loving, F.R.I.E.N.D.S (which is a given for me, I know it all word for word), Gavin and Stacey (James Corden is da bomb), Eastenders, Hollyoaks, Supervet, Gogglebox and The Voice UK.

7. If you had to give up crisps or chocolate which one would you choose?

Ahhh mayyynnnnn, you cannot possibly ask me that!!! Ha.

If I have something sweet like chocolate, I then have to have something savoury like crisps. Okay, I will have to say I would give up crisps because I could get savoury elsewhere to curb my cravings. Chocolate, not so much. You cannot take chocolate away from a hormonal woman, are you kidding me. There would be chaos.

8. How do you find managing blogging and your everyday life?

Right now, I am job searching (which I am fed up of) so I am managing just fine because I have the time I need to really put all the work/effort into it. When I do eventually get a job my blogging pattern will have to change. For example I will have to write posts over the weekend way in advance so I have the content ready to go for my post days of Monday and Thursday. It will all be about planning. I have done it before and I will do it again.

9. What scares you the most about blogging?

For me it would be failure. I am a perfectionist and I work hard at everything I do. The amount of effort I put into each post I do is unreal. It's not half hearted, if I do something I do it properly. It's hard to get the subscribers/followers now because blogging is so saturated, it's not a case of a small bunch of people anymore... We are talking millions. It's hard to get noticed as we are all doing the same thing.

10. What is your favourite way to relax at the weekend?

I love to take pictures, experiment with my hair and makeup and again take pictures and edit those. I also love to take a bath, wash my hair, go in hard with my skin routine and chill in my room watching movies and eating junk. Ha.

If I had a job I think my weekends would change slightly, in the day I would most probably go shopping and then maybe hit the town at night for a cheeky catch up with friends.

Right now I am happy doing my thaaannng.

11. What brands would you like to work with if you had the chance?

Oh my goodness, there are so many. You ready?

ShopDixi, Cult Beauty, MUDA Beuty, Makeup Revolution, Feel Unique, Barry M, Urban Decay, Zoeva, Nanchy, Real Techniques, Sigma, Soap & Glory, MAC, Body Shop, Lush, Rimmel, Loreal, Smashbox, YSL, New Look, H & M, Eylure, Elegant Touch, Moroccan Oil, Primark, Garnier, Foxy Locks Extensions, Melt Cosmetics, Rodial Skincare, Kiko Cosmetics, Superdrug/Boots, Topshop, Boohoo, Da Silva London. There are far too many to list. Ha.

11 Random Facts About MEEEEEEE.

1. I leave two bits of chicken in my curry and leave the rest. Just don't ask. Ha.

2. I am a singer and I have been on the X Factor and a horrendous dating show.

3. When I sit down I curl my toes under my foot - it's something I have always done. (That picture actually looks freaking weird).

4. I suck my thumb, hence why I need Invisalign. *Covers eyes*.

5. I have met Adam Lambert, Tom Odell and Brian Molko.

6. I didn't sleep with anyone until I was 18 and that was with my boyfriend at the time.

7. I cannot sleep in the dark, I have to have a dim light on otherwise I freak out something is going to get me. Ha.

8. I love anything rose gold/copper and have re-designed my room to fit that in.

9. I have 5 tattoo's and used to have my belly and tragus pierced.

10. I have a serious crush on Harry Styles.

11. I have three moles equally aligned in the form of Orions Belt on the right side of my forehead, left side of my forearm and on my left leg. I like to think I was born a star. Phaha.

My Top Ten Tips On How To Survive Valentine's Day // Single Girl Problems.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Hello rock stars. :)

Valentine's Day is literally days away. I literally dread this time of year. Not that I am bitter about it at all. Ha.

This is my seventh Valentine's Day on my own. I am such a single little prawn these days it's a joke.

You know, it's fine the first year or so, but come on is cupid having a joke up there or something?! I mean SEVEN YEARS!!! Just, wow.

So if you are like me this year and single (again) and all you are seeing around you is loved up couples, "look at what my boyfriend/girlfriend got me" and PDA's then you have come to the right place.

Here, we can all wallow for a second on being a big fat joke in the world of 'love', sitting on our own with our meals for one. It's quite sickening really.

But that second is now over and we are going to frickin embrace being single for this day if it kills us!!

Single girl problems are a reality when it comes to the dreaded 'V' day when you won't be getting any of the 'D' and your friends are. Ha. True story though.

So what if you don't have a secret admirer or cards and flowers sent to you (even though you really do wish that would happen).Follow my top ten tips on how to survive Valentines Day as if it were a zombie apocalypse and you will come out the other end alive to fight another day.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

1. Avoid social media like the god damn plague. There is nothing worse than scrolling through your home pages and seeing all the statuses of lovey dovey shit. No way. It makes my eyes want to bleed profusely. Turn it all off, mute your notifications and pretend Facebook, Twitter and everything media related wasn't invented. That's what I am going to do and that way I won't want to gouge my eyes out.

2. Run a bath and pop in a Lush bubble bar/bath bomb. No showers allowed. You my girl/boy need to relax and let the stench of bitterness soak away. There isn't anything more satisfying than floating in a hot bubble bath with candles flickering away. It's one of my favourite things to do. Just don't think of which hot man could be joining you at that point in time. *Covers eyes*.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

3. Pamper night. Get those face masks, nail polishes and body creams out and enjoy you 'me' time. I do this a hell of a lot as it is because I am always on my own, "yes get the violins out". You will feel so much better for it and your body will love you. Again, just don't imagine the hot guy!!

4. Dig out those horror and gore movies. Yes, you heard me. Nobody got time for romance films on Valentine's Day when you're a single pringle. You will want blood shed, twisted plots and messed up story lines. This is a sure way to get you out of any depressive mood. Trust me it works.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

5. Make your cheat day Valentine's Day. It falls on a Sunday this year, order that fail safe takeaway, crack open those calorific cakes and indulge in so much chocolate that you want to be sick in your mouth. Lets face it, if you're going to throw up from anything it should be that and not everyone's 'date night' pics. Fact.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

6. Put on the cheesiest, old school tunes you can find and dance around like no one is watching. The fact of the matter is... No one will actually be watching. It's a gift in disguise for most non-dancers.

7. Invite your lady friends around. If you (by some miracle) have other friends that are single. Invite them round to join in with the merriment. Single girl problems all round. YAS.

8. Get creative. Keeping your mind busy will pass the hours quicker than you can say "bore off St. Valentines". Get painting, whip out that adult colouring book (we all jumped on that crazy bandwagon) or get busy on a scrapbook.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

9. Exercise. Exercising releases endorphins, the body happy drug. Do not however go to the gym as it will most likely be empty and you don't want to be a public loser now do you. Think wisely. YouTube have some great intense training vids.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

10. Treat yourself to something. You've been looking at that dress/bag/shoes/makeup forever. Take the plunge and get it. An appreciation gift from me to me.  There you go, you have something to get excited about. Fool proof.

I hope these little tips help you get through hell day and it's important to know that you're not on your own. You could be be. Ha.

20 Things I Would Tell My 18 Year Old Self // Life Lessons.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

As you start getting older and looking back into distant memories of your youth, it becomes a lot clearer on what you wish you had or hadn't done.

I like to believe that you shouldn't have any regrets in life, but unfortunately most of us do.

When I look back to when I was in high school and even college I cringe to the point of sweating about the things I used to wear, what I looked like and things I used to get up to.

That being said I laugh a lot more at those things because that was who I was at that point in my life.

Oh I do love memories.

I remember in high school I used to wear my hair constantly in a bun where I would use butterfly clips to spike the ends of my bun out *covers eyes*. And when I wasn't doing that I was running through the school corridors singing my head off to Shakira's 'Whenever, Wherever', forging my parent's signatures on a get out of jail PE note or secretly eyeing my crush up across the yonder. Ha.

College, held the best times for me. I LOVED it so much! That's when I got my first proper boyfriend, fell in love, had sex for the first time (yes, I was 18, I was no hoe), made some amazing friends, skipped lessons, played football with the lads, had chicken wrap's without the wrap (don't ask). Bought and ate so many Woolworths Pick N Mix's until the point of vom, getting drunk and being scared of the 'evil doll', college bashes (always eventful), eyeing up a lot more hot guys (FitBen), singing Fleetwood Mac in 'the room' and re-creating Little Britain with McBri. There was so much laughter it's unreal. The list is gigantic.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
Photo quality is shocking this was like 10 years ago. Ouch.

Looking back to 10 years ago, what would I tell myself from what I know now?

A hella lot of things I'll tell you that for free!!

If my 18 year old self was sat in front of my pale face right this second this is what I would tell Leya 'McMouth' Hutton.

1. Have faith in yourself, you're one of the brighter crayons in that Crayola box and never forget that. Don't let others put you down. Those human's are called bullies.

2. Don't be in a hurry to grow up and be an adult, adult life is hard. Doing homework and worrying what you're going to wear to the next school disco is a drop in the very big ocean compared to adulthood. Treasure it whilst you can. Dance in the rain, play in the mud and stay young.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

3. Boys are not the be all and end all. Yep, you're going to get your heart broken, you're going to get rejected and that's by the guy that you thought was "the one". He isn't, you're going to one day fall in love with the guy you're meant to be with. Go with the flow because fate takes you to a million different places. I am still trying to deal with this now, I have been single for almost 7 years and the rate I am going my baby is going to come from a test tube. I didn't think that was ever going to happen. FML.

4. Face your fears, do the things that scare you most. I never did that in regards to getting on an aeroplane and now I am going to have to be highly drunk or drugged up to go to a different freaking country. Yeah thanks for that.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

5. Stop over thinking. I constantly over think EVERYTHING and it's annoying as hell. Just listen to me 18 year old self, over thinking leads you to the point of no return. DON'T DO IT.

6. Don't stress over people that really don't matter to you! I get infuriated with some things I see, read and hear to the point I can feel my blood boiling. *Just think of my blood in a pan on the highest heat... Not simmering... More like popping away like a volcano.* - Get the idea? It's a no no. They don't deserve your time, just forget about it and move on, even if you do want to smack them in the throat! :)

7. Haters are going to hate. I care about what people think of me and I really wish I didn't. I do now though get to the point where you either take me as I am or watch me as I go. Not everyone is going to like what you wear, how you speak, what you look like. Deal with it because you will have bigger fish to fry let me tell you. Keyboard warriors and basic bitches... Nobody got time for that!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

8. Take risks. I am now doing it in later life (okay I am only 28 but still the time is ticking, the leaves are falling, the ships are sailing. "You get the drift") and it's not frickin easy. If you are offered things... "TAKE THEM". This goes back to points 1 & 4.

9. Accept compliments. I am so bad at taking compliments it's unreal, having self doubt is draining. Someone compliments you, accept it and when you're having a bad day, pull that bad boy out of your pocket and love yourself. Be you, be free!!

10. Listen to your parents advice. Every kid will always hear those dreaded and damn right monotonous words "you will regret it, mark my words. Don't make the same mistakes as I did". When you are 18 those words mean nothing to you, you want to experience everything. Make those mistakes. Fine. Just don't be a dick and disregard everything that has been said to you because 9/10 they are correct in their advice. I have learnt the hard way a few times.

11. Embrace your smaller boobs. The boob job idea was never a fool proof plan, especially as now I love the fact they are smaller. I can wear pretty much anything without having to worrying about nip slip.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

 12. University isn't all that. For me it was a waste of time. I have some amazing memories but those memories won't get you your dream job, neither does your degree.

13. Get that brace. I now have a slight over bite through sucking my thumb and I HATE it. I cannot be pouting in my wedding photo's. Get me those Invisalign's pronto.

14.  You're cool, people are going to copy you! My pet peeve is people copying me. I am original but not ordinary. Anything but ordinary in fact and I have the tattoo to prove it ;). 18 year old self, embrace it because lets face it, those who have no imagination feed from your creativity. See it as you're helping those in need! Ha.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

15. Cry less, nobody deserves your tears, especially boys and needless haters.

16.  You don't have to do what everyone else is doing. Marrige, kids and a home before you're 21, that's not for everyone at that point in their lives. If I had a pound for every time I have heard someone say to me "shouldn't you have a boyfriend/kids by now?" I would be super rich. Don't tell me what to do. I will do it all in my own time when it's right for ME!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

17. Stop trying to plan everything out. Life doesn't work that way most of the time. Things happen for a reason and I am a strong believer in that. You plan most of your life out, it's never going to work. Nothing ever goes to plan... Well apart from the fact you will have a shitty period every month. Unless you're pregnant that is, and I for one am not.

18.  It's not the end of the world. "Nobody died". Dust your pretty self off and try again.

19. Practice saying "no" more. The amount of times I have done things to please others is endless. Sometimes you need to do things for you and you only. Put yourself first.

20. Trust your gut instinct. It never fails, if something doesn't seem right act upon your intuition. It also works for positive factors, if something seems like the right thing, think like Nike and "just do it".

Christmas Is The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!! // Bedroom Festive Décor.

Ohhhhh hi!!! :)

It has been sooooooooooooo long since I last wrote a post. Actually it's not been that long, but long enough.

Today I am back with a post, which if you know me, you will know that this will be about one of my favourite topics.

CHRISTMAS!!!

This year has gone so quickly, I cannot believe it's the 6th of December already. It is just flying by. In a way I am excited because it's nearing actual Christmas day, but then it kind of makes me sad because once Christmas is over it's the new year and I cannot stand the beginning of the new year.

Look at me being a Debbie Downer. Ha.

Over the last couple of months whilst I haven't been blogging I have in fact been re-decorating my room and buying lots of new Christmas decorations. I have completely got rid of the purple and black walls (what was I thinking when I chose those colours?! Yuk) and I now have a white and rose gold/copper themed room.

This year for Christmas I wanted a full on Christmas coloured theme, so I have gone for white, red and gold. I have a new white wardrobe and chest of drawers, a new bed and a new dressing table & mirror. I just need white bedside tables and lamps and white storage for my DVD's & CD's as my TV is going to go on my wall.

Cannot deal with the brown furniture.

So, now that my room is decorated I thought I would show you all of the Christmas things I have put out to make my room all Christmassy and festive.

On a side note, I do have to take my frickin Christmas tree back to Asda as it's faulty :( I am so sad about this as I will have to take all of the decorations off to get it exchanged and then re-decorate it. Oh the lights don't work, that's why it' faulty.

Enjoy.
