Sleek 'Matte Me' Liquid Lipsticks | Drugstore Budget for High End Dupe.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Yo my little friends.

Welcome back to another blog post at the end of another week.

I don't actually think we have had a Summer this year, all it's done is rain. I mean I have a freaking candle on in my room beside me and a hot water bottle. Although I must admit I am actually feeling pretty hot right now.

I am currently watching Tudors as I am running out of things to watch on Netflix. Jonathan Rhys Meyers though...

*Insert love heart*

He is a beautiful creature.

I really need to curb my makeup spending you know because I need to get through what I have, plus my savings are seriously draining because of the bills coming out.

Right now, I am not loving life.

What I am currently loving though is Sleek.

You can find them in Superdrug and now in Boots stores. They have so many wonderful pieces, I especially love their liners which can used both on the eyes and lips and come in some super cool shades.

I have always walked past their counters and have been highly interested in their 'Matte Me' liquid lipstick range. Previously I haven't invested because I am not a fan of liquid lipsticks.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

The reason being is that I over draw my top lip to equal out my bottom lip and if I am honest, I am sick of doing so.

I am seriously considering getting my lips done. For me my mouth is my least favourite feature.

I couldn't resist no more and I really wanted to get their shade 'Shabby Chic' but it was sold out everywhere by me. I had to actually travel around 80 miles to get this lipstick.

Dedication.

Again, I will be honest, I didn't have high hopes for this product as I am really fussy when it comes to what formula I put on my lips.

The packaging is pretty simple, it's in a see-through, oblong, glass like tube with matte lettering and matte screw on lid.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

It is priced at £4.99 which is a complete steal as you get a lot of product and it doesn't look cheap at all.

The colour 'Shabby Chic' is very similar to Kylie Cosmetics 'Posie K' which is a muted, opaque, and mauve shade.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I don't own Kylie's kits but I have seen a lot of people wearing this shade and for me 'Shabby Chic' is a complete dupe for a fraction of the price.

The applicator is a flat doe-foot, which I am actually fond of, it makes it easy to line the lips and gives an even finish to the product on the lips also.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

The consistency of the product is pretty thick but it doesn't apply that way, it applies so even and true to colour.

It's super pigmented and you don't get any blotches when drying.

Speaking of drying, it dries in quick time and dries really matte.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I am truly impressed with this product, it feels amazing when applying on the lips, it's so soft and velvety and is does what it says on the tin.

I loved it that much I went out and bought their shade 'Birthday Suit'. This one again I feel is a dupe for Kylie Jenner's 'Candy K'.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

This shade is more of a nude compared to 'Shabby Chic' with a more brown/pink undertone, not as mauve as the other.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I am so in love with these I want them all. I love Sleek as a brand and feel that their prices are super fair for the quality of their products. They are really well made and presented to a high standard.

There's a lot of their range that I want but I will have to wait until some miracle happens and I get a job. Ha.

As said previously, photographing my mouth isn't one of my favourites because they are constantly dry and not in the best condition. Ha.

The photo's above are with one coat, not bad I say.

They are totally buildable but once a few layers are on, the matte feeling is quite apparent and it can feel a little dry.

Typical of a matte product anyway. Nothing different.

All in all, you NEED to get these liquid lipsticks if you haven't already. They are freaking awesome!!!

MAC Brush Cleanser Review | Is It Any Good For Spot Cleaning?

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Hello guys.

How was your weekend?

How quick are these weeks flying by, it will actually be Christmas soon!!! That I am excited for, although if I don't have a job by then I am screwed totally.

It was my cousin's wedding on Friday and it was such a beautiful day, she looks stunning and I cried when she walked down the isle.

Ha ha, typical of me to cause a scene. I couldn't help it though, I am an emotional soul.

Lets get down to business...

When I went shopping the other week I really needed a brush cleaner that I could use for spot cleaning.

I wanted this because I wanted to sanitise my brushes to ensure that there was no bacteria on them each time I am doing my makeup looks and for when I use my brushes on other people.

I have been searching high and low for Isopropyl alcohol. I had tried Superdrug, Boots and anywhere else I could think of but no one sold it.

So when I was in MAC the other week I asked the lady what they use to spot clean their brushes as they are always doing makeovers on customers, or trying products out on them. That would require them to use their brushes so they must use something good.

I was told that they have their own brush cleaner which I didn't know they had and that's what they use in between clients.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I was sold because it obviously was good as they use it every day.

It cost £12 for a 235ml. It's a good size bottle but not the biggest.

When I first took it out of the packaging it just reminded me of nail varnish remover. It is pink in colour and I thought it would be clear for some reason.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I thought it would also have a spritz nozzle but it doesn't is has a pour out attachment which if I am totally honest, isn't the best. The product just leaks everywhere and when you push the lid back down it doesn't actually close properly, so you have to store it standing up.

The first time I used it I tried it on my lip brush, I had used a matte liquid lipstick on the brush and wanted to spot clean it.

I am not going to beat around the brush. It was awful.

It didn't remove the product it just moved the product around the brush and clumped up.

Safe to say I wasn't impressed at all.

So, I decided to put the cleanser to the test by spot cleaning my eye brushes and then my face brushes which have the most product on them.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
lelruoxx.blogspot.co.uk

I got a clean paper towel and poured the liquid onto the towel and proceeded to swirl one of my eye brushes into the cleanser.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

It removed some of the product as you can see below.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

It did take a few goes after also spritzing the product onto the brush directly and then swirling again in the product on the towel.

* I did end up decanting some of the cleanser into my own spray bottle in the end*

I then carried on spot cleaning the rest of my eye brushes in the same manner. Some of the brushes cleaned okay, some of them didn't end up with all the product removed.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I moved on to cleaning my face brushes, especially my foundation brush as it had most product on it. I knew this would be a challenge and I wanted to put the MAC cleanser to the test even more.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Hmmmmm, not so great I am afraid. It took away some of the product off the end of the brush bristles but it just did a similar thing to what my lip brush did. I think the cleanser doesn't deal so well with liquid product on the brushes. It worked a lot better with the powdered product but that's as far as it goes.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

It didn't touch the product further down the brush bristles at all so I don't think it would be great for deep cleaning either.

I haven't tried this product for deep cleaning and the main reason for that is that just from doing the spot cleaning it actually uses a lot of the cleanser because it doesn't diminish the product on the first go. You have to repeat the cleanse a number of times before you notice a difference.

All in all, I don't really think it is worth the money for what you're getting.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

If the price was lower I think you could expect less but I think it's pretty steep in cost for what you're actually getting and how much wastage is apparent. It's not going to last long at all.

There have been a lot of mixed reviews on this product but for me it's a nope for the major players in the brush game. It's okay to spot clean the eye brushes and even then not all the product comes out but it does a pretty good job on those.

I hope you found this an insightful review and has given you an idea of how this product works. For me, I won't be buying it again.

Warm Smokey Eye Makeup Look | Cut Crease | Morphe 35B Palette | Lit Cosmetics | Makeup Geek Review

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Evening lovelies!!!

Y'all good? Hope so!!!

I have my cousins wedding tomorrow and I finally managed to find a dress in time, I now just have the task of deciding whether to wave my hair or plait it with my new New Look hair rings.

I hate making decisions, I can never literally make them.

Talking about decisions, the EU Referendum... Man that is one heck of a decision to make.

I can't even decide between two different chocolate bars let alone making a decision that will affect myself and my country. It's lits fried my brain!!

If you have read my previous post about my Beauty Bay makeup haul you would know that I bought some awesome makeup products that I have never tried before but have wanted for ages.

I decided that I wanted to experiment with my makeup looks more so I opened up my shiny new things.

I am such a weirdo I always leave things in their new state for ages because I just cannot bear to make them not new anymore.

Get what I mean?

As you can tell from the title of this, I am going to show you a couple of looks I have created using my new Morphe 35B palette, Lit Cosmetics glitter kit and Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I will also be doing a little review on them too.

Lit Cosmetics have actually featured one of my looks on their Instagram page, which I am so ecstatic about and Beauty Bay have asked me if they can feature my cut crease look at some point on their social media too.

Not bad, not bad.

Heeeerrreeeee weeeeee gooooo!!!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

This is the picture that Beauty Bay have asked me if they could feature, I was a little shocked to be honest because it was my first proper cut crease that I had done. As you can see I hadn't put any falsies on and as you can also see, I look like I have no freaking lashes. It's soooooo annoying they are like poker straight and non- existent, just like my brows!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

So down to business, I used my Morphe 35B palette for this look and was the only shadows I used. I used the oranges within the palette and their single shadow in 'Granite' which I bought separately.

I am not going to lie, creating a cut crease free hand isn't easy, it's actually pretty tricky. Kudos to those magicians that can do it with their eyes closed. It takes precision.

I will be doing a tutorial on this soon for YouTube channel.

Let me know if this is something you would want to see.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

This palette lits is one of my faves at the moment, I love that you get so many pans in the palette and they are not on the small side either. They are super easy to work with especially when it comes to blending, they blend amazingly well!!! They are also highly pigmented and the colour pay off is on point.

You do get a bit of shadow dust when applying and some fall out but nothing spectacular, some times I don't get any fall out at all. I really want their other palettes especially their 350 but it's always sold out on Beauty Bay and I need to get a job first before buying more things.

We all know that's a lie... I will buy more with my Monopoly money. :D

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

This look is my 'Warm Smokey Eye' look which Lit Cosmetics actually shared!!

You can see the video above. :)

This look was mainly created with Makeup Geek shadow pans and Lit Cosmetics 'Rich and Famous'. The yellow was from the 35B palette (Morphe).

I created this look using shade 'Peach Smoothie' as the transition shade, then into the crease I used 'Cocoa Bear' and on the outer corners I used 'Bitten'. I mainly used 'Cocoa Bear' to smoke out on the lower lash line.

To finish and complete the look I used Lit Cosmetics glitter.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BRAND AND THEIR GLITTERS!!!!

This glitter is amazing, it stays on all day without fall out. It is also a pigmented glitter so it really sparkles. I have had soooo many people compliment my eye looks recently and I have had soooo many people ask me where the glitter is from.

I really need to get some more because it can be used for so many things.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Makeup Geek shadows have been raved about massively and I actually really like them. The pans are a lot smaller than I thought but I have a feeling they will last quite a while, again these shadows are a lovely consistency and awesome to work with. The colour pay off is true to the pan, it's not weak in any way at all.

I really want some more of those too.

I don't think I would ever get bored of experimenting with make up.

True story.

I hope you enjoyed my little makeup looks and the products I used.

If you can be bothered ha ha, let me know what kind of makeup look  you would like me to do next.

I might just video it for you ;)
