Madame La La - The Fake Tan That Actually Works? Honest Review.

Hello my lovelies.

I hope y'all good and well!!

Anybody that knows me or has even seen me, KNOWS I am a pale face, Casper if you may. Ha. I like to think of myself as a true English rose *insert cry laughing face*.

Even though I am quite low maintenance when it comes to my beauty regime - as in, I don't wear hair extensions, rarely wear false nails or lashes but mostly  I barely if at all really wear fake tan.

I have tried quite a few brands of fake tan over the years and I haven't ever found a self-tanning kit that works for me. It smells like crap, it ALWAYS goes patchy and it takes forever to dry. I am all about the snap, crackle and pop, nobody got time to be waiting around for a tan to dry before you can get on with your day/night. The struggle is real.

With all the drama's that have been going on in my life recently (I will fill you in at a later date with all of that) I have only just got round to finally writing my review.

So, the brand Madame La La very kindly sent me their tan to try out. I have wanted to try it for quite a while now as their packaging really caught my eye. I love monochrome packaging and foil, it has an air of sophistication and is very Instagramable.

Madame La La sent me their 'Self Tan Mousse' and their 'Bronzing Ball'. The bronzing ball, I will be completely honest... I didn't really get on with it as mine was quite dry and dragged my skin but I have a funny feeling I was using it incorrectly?

The tanning mousse however I LOVE!!! It promises to give you a 'even, deep golden glow' in 3 hours. It claims to be quick drying, that it's infused with 'Coco Water, Aloe, Green Tea and Vitamin E'. This is to hydrate the skin. They state that your tan will look 'natural whilst adapting to your individual skin tone'. They also state that your tan will last for 10 days. These are all very big claims.

This is how my tan turned out...

As you can see the tan is quite dark in these photo's - I put the flash on so you could see. Now, because I don't fake tan at all really I am not that good at the prep work before hand. EVERY TIME I tan I always find the bottom of my legs, basically my shins never keep the tan. It kind of rubs off which is odd but it's done this with every tan I use. Anyone know why?

Anyway I left this on over night and then throughout the working day - these pics were taken on the night just before washing off. It looks pretty dark. I love my tan to look dark but when you wash this off you are left with a lovely natural glow - THAT ISN'T ORANGE!!!

You can see where you are applying the tan which makes it super easy to blend and it does just take 5 mins to dry once you have applied. There is no horrible smell with this either which is a total score. The second time of me applying it, I did find I had patches but that wasn't to do with the tan, it was down to the prep work beforehand and my application as I found it only went patchy in the areas I couldn't reach properly. The only only other thing I would say is that it didn't last 10 days for me but again I think that is down to me and not the product. If anyone has any good prep tips for applying tan please let me know :)

It is super easy to apply, it dries really quickly, it doesn't smell and it does leave you with a lovely colour that isn't freakin orange. I love this tan and with Spring and Summer coming up I would totally recommend getting this. It's £30 for a 200ml bottle and I can tell you now it's well worth the money because I have a feeling it's going to last a good while too.

Awesome brand and bloody amazing on social media too. They always interact and are super nice to talk to!

10 Products That I Would Never Buy Again | Disappointing Beauty And Hair Drugstore Products I Wouldn't Recommend.

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest,

Evening my little bees!!

How cray cray has the weather been in the UK?! It just starts to feel like Autumn and then... "Oh hello Summer again" in the next breath. It's soooo freaking humid right now, I cannot even breathe about it! We had a storm, what was it? Yesterday? And today has been so miss matched. It's giving me whiplash. Ha.

I had an interview last week and got the job this week and even though I REALLY need a job I had to turn it down. It really sucks because when I went for the interview the vibe for me, was a little bit off. I was told things that weren't in the advert which really put me off and the money was no way near what was advertised so I reluctantly had to turn it down.

I had an interview today and one tomorrow and have applied for more jobs. Come on, someone has to give me one surely? Lol.

Please send me positive thoughts! :)

So, last Friday as per, I went food shopping and went into Superdrug to pick up some bits that bigger bloggers have been raving about for a while. This story is only going to roll downhill because when I got to the till (this is the gutting part) I paid for the items with my freaking bank card and not my voucher. The girl was talking to me and I lost my train of thought and then 'BAM' it was too late and the pin had been punched. NOOOOOOOO!!!!

That really pee'd me off and literally set the tone for the products too. I picked up the wrong foundation, I was searching for my shade and ended up going to the other product without realising. I only noticed when I got home but this foundation had been raved about so much, I thought - 'it has to be good!'

It wasn't, it was awful and it was the same with the other products too. It was a bad day in makeuphood!

This is what has prompted me to do the post that I am today. Obviously we all have different views on products, products that I don't like you may love if you already have it. This is my opinion and I thought I would show you the 10 products that I wouldn't recommend buying. They have disappointed me massively, it's rare that I won't like a product but when I don't I think it should be shared, to advise others.

Lets GO!

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, revlon, matte balm
beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, revlon, matte balm,

These are the Revlon 'Matte Balm's' and the likes of Zoella massively recommended these. Now, silly me believed in the hype and started swatching them in store. On the back of your hand they look really good, nothing compared to how they sit on your lips. I was so disappointed as for me they were nothing like I was lead to believe. I was under the impressed that they were super matte and they really aren't, I should of worked it out myself as the word 'balm' is included. It came out a lot more sheer than expected and the colour payoff really isn't that great. I literally left them after the first try. I tried them again recently and NOPE. They don't get better. If you're looking for something super matte this isn't the one.

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, rimmel, wake me up,
beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, rimmel, wake me up,

Okay, so this is the foundation that I bought by mistake the other day, it's the Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' and I originally went for the one with the red top? I mistakenly picked this one up and thought - 'oh well, everyone raves about this, I am sure it's good'. I swear I think this is one of the worst I have tried. It is real light coverage, which I don't like as it really DID NOT cover my dark circles, it was quite thin and was a lot darker than the shade 'Ivory' suggests. It comes out on me quite uneven, it does give a nice glow which does wake the skin up but if you like a nicer coverage and have combi/dry skin this really is not worth bothering with. I cannot get on with it. I have tried layering the application too and it just looks cakey. Just no!

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, fit me, maybelline

Another product that can't do no wrong is the Maybelline 'Fit Me' concealer. Loads of YouTuber's have said this product is "amazing" errrrr no it's not! It's more watery than the tears falling from eyes after paying for this product and realising it's awful. Ha. It creases, definitely doesn't cover dark circles at all, just seeps into them and sinks into foundation if you're using it to lighten.

See ya.

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, nyx, matte lip cream,

Yep, sorry NYX but you appear on this list twice. I love NYX as a brand but some of the products aren't as they seem or just fail to impress me. Their matte lip creams are no exception, okay, so I have one of them but I am in no hurry to buy anymore. I am not too keen on the formula and I find that it applies cakey on the lips and isn't consistent in its application, it goes patchy. I am not totally sold on these at all which is disappointing as I really wanted to like it.

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, rimmel,

Rimmell's new colour liners, it looked great when swatched,on the eyes, not so much. Maaayyynnn. The colour is okay, nothing to shout about and it rubs off the eyes quite easily as it's sitting on a base. Tried it for the first time today... I am left a little deflated!!!

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, nyx, vivid brights,

Oh hello NYX... We meet again!! I don't really need to say much about this as you can see for yourself what the issue is. LOOK AT IT!!! Errrr somehow I do not see the green on the packaging looking like that on my hand... I don't remember ordering Khaki guys!! Vile, bog of eternal stench colour (Labyrinth fans you will appreciate this). Don't be fooled ladies and gents!

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, models own, chrome,

Models own... Never really tried their products, I saw these chrome varnishes. I was seriously deceived, I thought that the varnish was going to look like the packaging. It's called 'Chrome' after all. Why wouldn't I think that? Man, these come out horribly, you can see from the pictures. The gold, maybe I could deal but the copper one isn't copper! What even is that. It's a nothing colour. £5, more like a 5p purchase!

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, kiko, lip scrub
beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, kiko,

I have never been completely sold on lip scrubs, I have dry lips most days because of the matte lipsticks I wear. I picked this Kiko lip stick scrub up and it's nothing special. Just because it's in a stick doesn't make this product any better. It's an 'okay' product but not worth the price in my honest opinion. It wears down awfully quickly and I have really been using it sparingly which means it's not worth it if you want to use it often.

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest,

Oh my goodness, I think this is THE WORST product I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my hair!! It does nothing it states on the bottle, if anything it does the opposite. It tangled my hair, didn't dry any quicker, made it feel really dry and my hair dried unevenly. I felt like I needed to re-wash my hair after this!! I 100% wouldn't recommend this. If you like the feeling of matted hair, then carry on! :)

beauty blogger, recommendation, would not buy, would not recommend, fail, drugstore, beauty products, makeup, disappointing, honest, bastiste, xxl volume spray,

Bastise, this is not the best product you have ever produced. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it and I need volume at my roots. I found this never did that for me, it made it slightly sticky, the roots proceeded to stick to my scalp and it felt really powdery. I love the rest in the range but really not a fan of this at all. It made me feel really uncomfortable all day.

Don't get me wrong, with me writing my honest opinions' about these products doesn't mean I don't love the brand and the rest of the products they produce. This post is simply to suggest what products I feel aren't at the top of their game.

Let me know if you have tried any of these products and how you feel about them. Not everyone will agree with me and that's a healthy debate!!!

Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette | First Impressions | Review | Makeup Look.

beauty bay, bbdaretoshare, violet voss, holy grail, holy grail palette, makeup geek, creme brulee, la girl, morphe brushes,

Happy Thursday guys. Almost the weekend!!

I hope everyone reading is well?!

I cannot believe it's almost been a week since my birthday. Time is flying by so fast and it makes me feel so sick that I still don't have a job. I know in each post I write I have been mentioning this but it's a way to vent and I am getting quite worried now as to why I am not getting anything. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

As I mentioned it was birthday Sunday just gone, so as a little present from me to me I treated myself to a cheeky Beauty Bay order. I purchased an LA Girl - orange correction concealer, a Morphe crease blending brush, Makeup Geek's 'Creme Brulee' eyeshadow pan and finally the Violet Voss 'Holy Grail' palette.

Now, this palette is highly sort after, limited edition and as soon as it comes into stock it has disappeared minutes later. Last time this palette came into stock I didn't get the chance to buy it as it sold out so quickly.

You can only get this in America, mainly, so when it comes into stock on Beauty Bay everyone is flying at it.

I was so happy that I managed to get my hands on this palette because the colours are SO freaking beautiful. Totally up my street and so warm which is the tone I love to work with the most.

The Holy Grail palette retails at around £35 on Beauty bay and has a few similar shades to Anastasia's 'Modern Renaissance' palette and is still cheaper.

When I first opened my package and the palette was revealed to me, my initial thought was - 'it's a lot smaller and thinner than I expected'.

The packaging the palette comes in is monochrome which I love, it's super sleek, expensive looking and chic.

beauty bay, bbdaretoshare, review, holy grail, holy grail palette, violet voss, eyeshadow palette, must have, high end,

The above pic is of the outer packaging and on the inside the palette is protected in bubble wrap, this is why I thought the palette was thicker in depth.

The palette itself matches the box but the palette is made out of a soft, velvet style texture which is easily markable but not so much wipeable. Take care in that.

The name of the palette 'Holy Grail' is a statement in itself and is basically suggesting that this palette is all you're going to need, what you're going to reach for and one of which you will highly recommend.

I for one, TOTALLY AGREE!!

This has got to be my favourite palette right now. No word of a lie. I am super glad I invested in the hype because it is 100% worth it.

beauty bay, bbdaretoshare, review, holy grail, holy grail palette, violet voss, eyeshadow palette, must have, high end,

There is nothing not like about this palette. The shadows themselves are highly pigmented, you really don't need a lot on your brush to get an amazing colour payoff. The payoff it true to pan and they are so buttery and blend beautifully.

The palette consists of matte shades and shimmer shades and if you spray a little Fix Plus spray before applying the shimmer the colours' really pop. I am so impressed it's unreal.

This palette is totally suitable for all skin types in my opinion and there are colours within the palette that everyone will like.

Perfect for autumnal looks let me tell you.

The swatch above is from one light swipe, can I get an "amen"!

Another thing I like is the names of each colour, they are really thought out and clever.

I am totally in love right now.

Below are swatches of the whole palette so you can get an idea of what they look like.

Obviously I am a pale face so they will show up different on different skin tones but ya get me.

N/B - Tones starting from my wrist are the swatches from the top left of the palette through to the last pan on the bottom right.

You get 20 shadows within this palette and to me that's pretty good value for money. I love all the colours, especially the warm mattes and the cranberries.

As soon as this comes back in stock again you NEED to get this a.s.a.p. It really is a must-have, a staple 'HOLY GRAIL' in your makeup collection and I would totally recommend to EVVVVERRRRYYYONEE!! :)

Below is an eye look that I created with this palette.

I decided to do a dramatic cut crease using the shades 'Transition' 'Hashtag' and 'Bestie' in the crease line. 'Brownie Points' and 'Teddy Bear' in the outer crease. I used 'Toffee' and 'Awesome Sauce' on the lid and finally on the inner lower lash line I used 'Wine N Dine' mixed with a separate purple shadow. I then added some glitter to the lower lash line and the black/brown you can see is my gel liner in which I smudged out mixed with 'Brownie Points' and 'Teddy Bear'.

The lashes are Vagas Nay - 'Grand Glamour'.

New L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Purity Mask And Facial Cleansing Oil | First Impressions Review | Are They Worth The Hype?

loreal, loreal paris, cleansing oil, drugstore, boots, clay mask, purity mask, skin care,

Hey guys!

So it's freaking August, I cannot believe it... And I still don't have a job 8 months later. Seriously, thank goodness I saved.

Oh and it's my birthday on Sunday (7th) :)

My mum told me that everything happens for a reason and right now I see the reason I don't have a job.

My Guinea pig Cody has been life threateningly ill and it lits has been touch and go. A lot of tears, anxiety, panic attacks and sleepless nights. He had to go back to the vets as it seemed as he couldn't eat, long story short, his pneumonia progressed, whilst taking bloods Cody actually stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated so they couldn't check his teeth or X Ray him.

I brought him home because I knew no one could care for him like I could and if he decided to give up the fight at least he would be comfortable at home.

He lost a lot of weight, so I have been up constantly throughout the early hours of the morning feeding him every 4 hours all day.

I am exhausted, I am not going to lie but I am hoping all my care will be worth it in the end.

And this is where I see the fact I am still job searching as a positive as Cody would of sure passed away as I wouldn't of been around as much.

This is why on Thursday there was no post as I was soooo tired.

I am back today though with a brand new post for you and something in which I hope you enjoy.

Lets GO!!!

As mentioned above, I have literally had no time for myself properly so, when I managed to grab some time on Saturday to go food shopping quickly, I popped into Boots looking for a couple of things in particular.

I have really gotten into my skin care routine recently as I am trying to keep my breakouts at bay and currently what I am using is really working for me.

I have seen people rave about the new L'Oreal clay masks. They have 3 in the range.

1. Pure Clay Glow Mask
2. Pure Clay Detox Mask
3. Pure Clay Purity Mask

Each of them obviously do different things. I really wanted the Dextox mask as it was charcoal based and I thought it would be amazing on my skin. It's sold out EVERYWHERE!!

I ended up purchasing the Purity mask as to me that was the next best thing at drawing out impurities in my skin.

I also noticed their Extaordinary Oil - Facial Cleansing Oil too, I don't actually know if it is new in their range but it caught my eye as I wanted something different to take my makeup off.

loreal, loreal paris, cleansing oil, drugstore, boots, clay mask, purity mask, skin care,
loreal, loreal paris, cleansing oil, drugstore, boots, clay mask, purity mask, skin care,

The masks are currently on offer in Boots for £5 and the cleansing oil was a little over £5. I had just over £10 of points on my Boots card so I used those to get these items. I also feel like the masks are exclusive to Boots as I cannot find a trace of them in Superdrug which is a little odd as I thought they would be everywhere.

loreal, loreal paris, cleansing oil, drugstore, boots, clay mask, purity mask, skin care,

I decided to use the cleaning oil yesterday morning as the night before I used my Garnier Micella water (the blue one) and I felt it didn't remove my makeup properly like the pink version so when I woke up I wanted to use the oil to remove the excess makeup and then double cleanse with my usual wash.

What I do like about the packaging is that it comes with a pump, there is nothing more annoying than getting a product and it either doesn't come with a nozzle or it's a spritz one. The pump dispenses the product in good manner so you don't end up with too much or too little.

It glides onto your face super smoothly, it smells really nice and it's for all skin types. It can been used all over the face, eyes and lips. Pretty standard.

L'Oreal claims that this product -'instantly removes all traces of makeup, even waterproof' and the 'skin is left cleansed and nourished with a non-greasy feel'.

I will be honest with you... I actually quite like this product, it does what it claims to do and it's great as your face doesn't feel heavy afterwards, it left my face prepped for the second cleanse and it felt lightweight, fresh and awake. I will be adding this in to my routine for now on. :)

It's simple to use too. Put 2-3 drops (I used 2) onto a dry face and massage in. Then you wash off with water. Super simple.

I would like to see how this works with a full face of makeup, so I will be giving that a whirl.

Good job L'Oreal!

loreal, loreal paris, cleansing oil, drugstore, boots, clay mask, purity mask, skin care,

After I used the cleansing oil I then dried my face off, had a bath and then popped the mask on.

You apply this again onto dry skin, duh, and avoid the eyes and mouth area.

The consistency of this product is soooooo frickin lovely, it's creamy, luxurious and a little goes a long way. I love the simplicity of the packaging and even without the discount it's a well priced product.

Okay, so, the purity mask is 50ml and states 10 applications worth of product. I feel I would actually get more out of it. I have a fat head too, nothing like some pea heads out there ( I wish I had a pea head) - all you pea heads, it should last even longer for you.

It has 3 different pure clay's and Eucalyptus and you can really smell that when applying. It's a really refreshing, spa like smell.

The clay's used are...

Koalin - 'a highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum', which I have a lot of on my nose. You could see it drawing the nastiness out of my skin as the mask started to bubble on my nose.

Montmorillonite - 'rich in minerals, a clay recognised for helping to eliminate imperfections'. No one is perfect right?

Ghassoul - 'A pure clay highly concentrated in minerals renowned to help clarify complextion'.

This mask claims that it 'purifies' and 'mattifies' your skin and it gives a little list of what to expect in the means of results.

Immediately - skin is fresh, clean and purified.

Use for one week - skin looks mattified, cleaner and softer.

Use after use - skin can breathe, is visibly transformed.

Bold claims from L'oreal but I genuinely believe in them.

After removing the dried mask I noticed my skin seemed a little brighter, reeeeaally soft and not so clogged.

You know what I mean? It just felt lighter.

The directions of use is to apply 2-3 times a week and leave on for 5-10 minutes each time, I did 10 minutes.

loreal, loreal paris, cleansing oil, drugstore, boots, clay mask, purity mask, skin care,

I feel these masks are like freaking Pokemon.

"You gotta catch them all". Ha.

I really want the other two now that I have tried this one. And if in the end it turns out to be a gimmick, hell, my skin feels great anyway.

I would highly recommend the mask fo'sure and I would suggest you go out and buy them before they all sell out completely.

As for the oil, I really like the product, as stated, I need to try this on a full face of makeup to see if it works just as good. I will have to let you know on that one.
