Makeup Revolution Bold Eye Look // Let Your Eyes Do The Talking.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Helllooooaaaaa.

I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's weekend?! Mine of course involved pizza, cake and horror movies (as promised in my previous post). I did however get ghosted by my lad mate for no reason whatsoever, so that's made me feel amazing and I got given a pity gift from Lush on Sunday. Ha.

Onwards and upwards and all that. :)

Most people know that I like to experiment with my look and makeup,I never like to look the same. If I am out and about I like to stand out but not in a 'in your face' kind of way.

I get a lot of compliments on my makeup and me being me don't take compliments very well. So I always get shy when someone compliments me. I don't watch tutorials and I am 100% not the best ever at makeup, but I just go with what I am feeling on that day.

Practice makes perfect you know.

Seeing as I am job searching (still) at the moment it's giving me a lot of free time to play with my makeup.

This look at I am presenting to you today is one of my favourite bold eye looks which I tend to fashion in Spring/summer.

It's all about the eyes for me because they are my stand out feature, so I like to make most of them.

If you are like me and like a bold eye then follow these steps to creating the perfect stand out look. If you want to know what I have used on my face then check out my 'Smokey Eye & Nude Lip' post that I posted the other week.

For my eyes I will always put concealer and foundation on first, some people prefer to leave this step out but for me it works best to have a covered base. I will then apply my MUA nude shadow to use as a base to block out any redness.

The next step for this look, and I like to switch this process up, will be the eyeliner. Here I am using my trusty Rimmel 'Exaggerate' Liquid eyeliner and their 'Scandaleyes' Kohl pencil. I will just apply a chunkier cat eye along my top lid and then apply the Kohl pencil through my tight line and water line.

Next, apply a good coat of mascara. I am using Maybelline's 'Lash Sensational' and MAC's 'False Lashes'.

Now that this part has been completed it's time to move onto the eyeshadow. This is 100% the fun part!!!

For this look today I will be using the Makeup Revolution 'Mermaids vs Unicorns' eyeshadow pallet.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I will be using this aqua green shade first of all, in the crease blending it outwards out of the socket.

Next I will be moving onto this lighter blue shade, building the colour up from the crease but only ever so slightly.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Finally I will use the bright blue shade as the main vocal point which I will be blending in from the outer corners of my crease towards my brow. This is what finalises the look.

Because I have put eyeshadow on after my eyeliner I will then go over the liner and mascara to ensure that the shadow dust disappears.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

On this look today I wanted to deepen the crease. So I decided to put a little liquid liner into the crease and blend to the outer corners of my eye with my shading brush.

Now that the upper stage is basically done I move on to my lower eye with the Bourjois 'Intense Metalic' eye pencil in 'Bleu Clinquant 54'.

Next you go back in with the bright blue shade in the Makeup Revolution pallet, across the lower lash line to make that blue pop and sparkle.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

After this step I will just touch up the liner and mascara again.

:)

As if this isn't stand out enough I like to make my look really different. I used to wear dots above my eyebrow which people thought were tattoo'd on. Ha. That grabbed a lot of attention.

Today, I am going to take the dot inspiration from my past and put one dot on my lower lash line, on each eye, just directly under where my pupil sits.

The dots add more glamour to the look I feel and it reminds me of a butterfly. Super pretty and feminine.

And that's the eyes done. I will then do my usual highlighter and blush to finish the look and add my favourite nude lip which I use MAC's 'Honeylove' matte lipstick and the Primark 'Nude' liner.

There you have it. My finished bold eye look.

I always reach for my Makeup Revolution pallets as they are super pigmented and the colour pay off is amazing. They have so many colours available and their pricing cannot be beaten, end of.

This look is pretty simple to re-create and with LFW coming up (very quickly) this is a sure fire way to get noticed. This will be the eye look I will be sporting when I head down to London on Monday!!

Go on have a play!!

My Top Ten Tips On How To Survive Valentine's Day // Single Girl Problems.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Hello rock stars. :)

Valentine's Day is literally days away. I literally dread this time of year. Not that I am bitter about it at all. Ha.

This is my seventh Valentine's Day on my own. I am such a single little prawn these days it's a joke.

You know, it's fine the first year or so, but come on is cupid having a joke up there or something?! I mean SEVEN YEARS!!! Just, wow.

So if you are like me this year and single (again) and all you are seeing around you is loved up couples, "look at what my boyfriend/girlfriend got me" and PDA's then you have come to the right place.

Here, we can all wallow for a second on being a big fat joke in the world of 'love', sitting on our own with our meals for one. It's quite sickening really.

But that second is now over and we are going to frickin embrace being single for this day if it kills us!!

Single girl problems are a reality when it comes to the dreaded 'V' day when you won't be getting any of the 'D' and your friends are. Ha. True story though.

So what if you don't have a secret admirer or cards and flowers sent to you (even though you really do wish that would happen).Follow my top ten tips on how to survive Valentines Day as if it were a zombie apocalypse and you will come out the other end alive to fight another day.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

1. Avoid social media like the god damn plague. There is nothing worse than scrolling through your home pages and seeing all the statuses of lovey dovey shit. No way. It makes my eyes want to bleed profusely. Turn it all off, mute your notifications and pretend Facebook, Twitter and everything media related wasn't invented. That's what I am going to do and that way I won't want to gouge my eyes out.

2. Run a bath and pop in a Lush bubble bar/bath bomb. No showers allowed. You my girl/boy need to relax and let the stench of bitterness soak away. There isn't anything more satisfying than floating in a hot bubble bath with candles flickering away. It's one of my favourite things to do. Just don't think of which hot man could be joining you at that point in time. *Covers eyes*.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

3. Pamper night. Get those face masks, nail polishes and body creams out and enjoy you 'me' time. I do this a hell of a lot as it is because I am always on my own, "yes get the violins out". You will feel so much better for it and your body will love you. Again, just don't imagine the hot guy!!

4. Dig out those horror and gore movies. Yes, you heard me. Nobody got time for romance films on Valentine's Day when you're a single pringle. You will want blood shed, twisted plots and messed up story lines. This is a sure way to get you out of any depressive mood. Trust me it works.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

5. Make your cheat day Valentine's Day. It falls on a Sunday this year, order that fail safe takeaway, crack open those calorific cakes and indulge in so much chocolate that you want to be sick in your mouth. Lets face it, if you're going to throw up from anything it should be that and not everyone's 'date night' pics. Fact.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

6. Put on the cheesiest, old school tunes you can find and dance around like no one is watching. The fact of the matter is... No one will actually be watching. It's a gift in disguise for most non-dancers.

7. Invite your lady friends around. If you (by some miracle) have other friends that are single. Invite them round to join in with the merriment. Single girl problems all round. YAS.

8. Get creative. Keeping your mind busy will pass the hours quicker than you can say "bore off St. Valentines". Get painting, whip out that adult colouring book (we all jumped on that crazy bandwagon) or get busy on a scrapbook.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

9. Exercise. Exercising releases endorphins, the body happy drug. Do not however go to the gym as it will most likely be empty and you don't want to be a public loser now do you. Think wisely. YouTube have some great intense training vids.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

10. Treat yourself to something. You've been looking at that dress/bag/shoes/makeup forever. Take the plunge and get it. An appreciation gift from me to me.  There you go, you have something to get excited about. Fool proof.

I hope these little tips help you get through hell day and it's important to know that you're not on your own. You could be be. Ha.

20 Things I Would Tell My 18 Year Old Self // Life Lessons.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

As you start getting older and looking back into distant memories of your youth, it becomes a lot clearer on what you wish you had or hadn't done.

I like to believe that you shouldn't have any regrets in life, but unfortunately most of us do.

When I look back to when I was in high school and even college I cringe to the point of sweating about the things I used to wear, what I looked like and things I used to get up to.

That being said I laugh a lot more at those things because that was who I was at that point in my life.

Oh I do love memories.

I remember in high school I used to wear my hair constantly in a bun where I would use butterfly clips to spike the ends of my bun out *covers eyes*. And when I wasn't doing that I was running through the school corridors singing my head off to Shakira's 'Whenever, Wherever', forging my parent's signatures on a get out of jail PE note or secretly eyeing my crush up across the yonder. Ha.

College, held the best times for me. I LOVED it so much! That's when I got my first proper boyfriend, fell in love, had sex for the first time (yes, I was 18, I was no hoe), made some amazing friends, skipped lessons, played football with the lads, had chicken wrap's without the wrap (don't ask). Bought and ate so many Woolworths Pick N Mix's until the point of vom, getting drunk and being scared of the 'evil doll', college bashes (always eventful), eyeing up a lot more hot guys (FitBen), singing Fleetwood Mac in 'the room' and re-creating Little Britain with McBri. There was so much laughter it's unreal. The list is gigantic.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
Photo quality is shocking this was like 10 years ago. Ouch.

Looking back to 10 years ago, what would I tell myself from what I know now?

A hella lot of things I'll tell you that for free!!

If my 18 year old self was sat in front of my pale face right this second this is what I would tell Leya 'McMouth' Hutton.

1. Have faith in yourself, you're one of the brighter crayons in that Crayola box and never forget that. Don't let others put you down. Those human's are called bullies.

2. Don't be in a hurry to grow up and be an adult, adult life is hard. Doing homework and worrying what you're going to wear to the next school disco is a drop in the very big ocean compared to adulthood. Treasure it whilst you can. Dance in the rain, play in the mud and stay young.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

3. Boys are not the be all and end all. Yep, you're going to get your heart broken, you're going to get rejected and that's by the guy that you thought was "the one". He isn't, you're going to one day fall in love with the guy you're meant to be with. Go with the flow because fate takes you to a million different places. I am still trying to deal with this now, I have been single for almost 7 years and the rate I am going my baby is going to come from a test tube. I didn't think that was ever going to happen. FML.

4. Face your fears, do the things that scare you most. I never did that in regards to getting on an aeroplane and now I am going to have to be highly drunk or drugged up to go to a different freaking country. Yeah thanks for that.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

5. Stop over thinking. I constantly over think EVERYTHING and it's annoying as hell. Just listen to me 18 year old self, over thinking leads you to the point of no return. DON'T DO IT.

6. Don't stress over people that really don't matter to you! I get infuriated with some things I see, read and hear to the point I can feel my blood boiling. *Just think of my blood in a pan on the highest heat... Not simmering... More like popping away like a volcano.* - Get the idea? It's a no no. They don't deserve your time, just forget about it and move on, even if you do want to smack them in the throat! :)

7. Haters are going to hate. I care about what people think of me and I really wish I didn't. I do now though get to the point where you either take me as I am or watch me as I go. Not everyone is going to like what you wear, how you speak, what you look like. Deal with it because you will have bigger fish to fry let me tell you. Keyboard warriors and basic bitches... Nobody got time for that!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

8. Take risks. I am now doing it in later life (okay I am only 28 but still the time is ticking, the leaves are falling, the ships are sailing. "You get the drift") and it's not frickin easy. If you are offered things... "TAKE THEM". This goes back to points 1 & 4.

9. Accept compliments. I am so bad at taking compliments it's unreal, having self doubt is draining. Someone compliments you, accept it and when you're having a bad day, pull that bad boy out of your pocket and love yourself. Be you, be free!!

10. Listen to your parents advice. Every kid will always hear those dreaded and damn right monotonous words "you will regret it, mark my words. Don't make the same mistakes as I did". When you are 18 those words mean nothing to you, you want to experience everything. Make those mistakes. Fine. Just don't be a dick and disregard everything that has been said to you because 9/10 they are correct in their advice. I have learnt the hard way a few times.

11. Embrace your smaller boobs. The boob job idea was never a fool proof plan, especially as now I love the fact they are smaller. I can wear pretty much anything without having to worrying about nip slip.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

 12. University isn't all that. For me it was a waste of time. I have some amazing memories but those memories won't get you your dream job, neither does your degree.

13. Get that brace. I now have a slight over bite through sucking my thumb and I HATE it. I cannot be pouting in my wedding photo's. Get me those Invisalign's pronto.

14.  You're cool, people are going to copy you! My pet peeve is people copying me. I am original but not ordinary. Anything but ordinary in fact and I have the tattoo to prove it ;). 18 year old self, embrace it because lets face it, those who have no imagination feed from your creativity. See it as you're helping those in need! Ha.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

15. Cry less, nobody deserves your tears, especially boys and needless haters.

16.  You don't have to do what everyone else is doing. Marrige, kids and a home before you're 21, that's not for everyone at that point in their lives. If I had a pound for every time I have heard someone say to me "shouldn't you have a boyfriend/kids by now?" I would be super rich. Don't tell me what to do. I will do it all in my own time when it's right for ME!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

17. Stop trying to plan everything out. Life doesn't work that way most of the time. Things happen for a reason and I am a strong believer in that. You plan most of your life out, it's never going to work. Nothing ever goes to plan... Well apart from the fact you will have a shitty period every month. Unless you're pregnant that is, and I for one am not.

18.  It's not the end of the world. "Nobody died". Dust your pretty self off and try again.

19. Practice saying "no" more. The amount of times I have done things to please others is endless. Sometimes you need to do things for you and you only. Put yourself first.

20. Trust your gut instinct. It never fails, if something doesn't seem right act upon your intuition. It also works for positive factors, if something seems like the right thing, think like Nike and "just do it".
