New Job Lookbook // H & M & Primark Haul.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Hello my lovelies!!!

I am baaaacccckkkkk "mwahahahaha".

I have some information for you guys, you might be interested to know, or you may not care one bit.

Either way I am going to tell you anyway... I have FINALLY got myself a job!!! After frickin ages of searching I was finally offered a position!! You can now call me a Finance Department Administrator & Office Assistant. :)

I am sooooo happy that I finally have a job, especially for Christmas too, I was really worried I wasn't going to find anything and it was baffling me as to why I wasn't getting any offers. After attending a couple of interviews it all boils down to the fact that so many people are applying for the same jobs, and if someone has a tiny bit more experience than you, you won't be getting the job. It's so cut throat right now it's ridiculous and really disheartening. Anyway, this position is only temporary until Christmas, but if I do a good job and they like me and obviously if I like the job and the company I might get offered to stay on permanently.

Fingers crossed on all aspects, and obviously because it is a temp job I will still be job searching for something permanent for afterwards. Ooohh and it's little two minutes from where I live so it's only a quick drive to work and back, I will be saving a huge amount on petrol.

Now, I had to make a quick dash around the shops in a bid to find some suitable 'smart-casual' work clothes and shoes, because as you know (if you follow my blog posts) I love my fashion and I have a pretty laid back approach to what I wear. I can't for obvious reasons rock up to the office in my Doc's and leather look trousers so I had to tone it down a bit but still have my personality in there somewhere.

I have done a little 'Lookbook' & haul for you guys to see what I bought and how I styled it for the "office life".

I hope you like it. :)

Skinny Stretchy Trousers
H&M
£12.99
Black
Size 8

I found these trousers in my local H & M, I was looking for an alternative to normal bootcut, work style trousers and these are perfect. They have the same material as the bootcut's but for me in a more flattering shape. They are also high waisted and remind me of disco pants without the high-shine, perfect for tucking a shirt or blouse into.

They are really comfortable too and go with everything, you cannot go wrong with black!

Black & White Poker Dot Shirt
H&M
£12.99
Size 10
Bag: Primark £6
Necklace: Gift
Trousers: As pictured above
Lipstick: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet, OlĂ© Flamingo! £8.99

I "spotted" (ha, get it?!) this shirt when it came into store and I wasn't totally sold on it, when I found out I had got the job I was on the hunt for a stand-out shirt. I had tried on soooooo many of them, I am not a massive fan of shirts as I haven't really included them as a staple in my day to day look, saying that though I actually really like this one. I love how the majority of it is black which means I can wear it with most things and the white spots make what would be a boring top half, stand out.

Fine Knitt Jumper
H&M
£7.99
Size Large

I really like this jumper, it's light weight and comfortable, it has that 'cosy' look to it and it's great for layering. I did originally pick up a teal jumper which I liked and that was in a very similar style to the jumper here. It was £14.99 and then I spotted this one and preferred it, plus it was a fraction of the price.

This piece is more of the 'casual' to the the 'smart' and it looks great either skimming your trouser hem or loosely tucked in. I hate being cold so this is ideal for layering if the office air-con is too overwhelming.

Black Shirt Dress
Primark
£10
Size 12
Hat: H&M £12.99
Bag: Primark £8

I am not loving my local Primark at the moment, it has all the same things in and not much new and I don't know if you have noticed this too but their prices are really going up. I am actually finding H & M cheaper than Primark and it's better quality. What's going on Primark, you used to be cheap?!

The bigger stores seem to have more of a selection but I did come across this shirt dress a while back and I was hoping that they still had it. They did.

I am a size 8-10 usually depending on what store I am in because a lot of shops I am finding, that their clothes are not true to size, they come up real small. So I got this dress in a size 12 as I didn't want it clingy, more free flowing. I love the design of this shirt dress and even though it's smart, it carries the casual too. I love the little tie string too so you can alter the waistline and it would look great with a pair of leggings, black tights or even for the autumn/winter months a berry coloured pair of tights.

It's a cute dress and you can layer with this too which is great as I love layering and I love autumn.

Black Dolly Shoes with Gold Hardware
Primark
£8
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Like I said, I cannot rock up to the office in my docs and I NEVER wear shoes like this, so all of this is quite new to me, but I obviously needed a nice pair of shoes that would go with my outfits and my style. I liked these ones as the are a velvet material and a deep black and with black socks on, it actually looks really nice. I am thinking about teaming these with some black thrill socks for added cuteness. I love the gold hardware too. I have bought shoes from Primani before and they are made so badly, so I am hoping these one's don't fall apart.

I hoped you liked my little lookbook/haul and that I may have given you some inspiration into some ideas for yourself?

I start my new job tomorrow and I am extremely nervous, so much so I feel a little sick in my mouth. Ha.

I will be mainly posting at the weekends now as I will be working in the week, if I have enough time I might post late at night in the week like I usually do.

Either way if you like my blog give me a follow on Bloglovin' or leave me a comment as I love reading your feedback.

H&M Dress Of The Month // And Some Other Vitals

It's no secret that I am a massive fan of H@M clothing!!
They always have some really nice pieces in there and I could literally spend a fortune.

There is one item of clothing that really stood out to me when I last visited the store (before my birthday) and one of which I actually regret not buying.

The reason that I did not buy I will tell you shortly.

Nevertheless, I did and have fallen in love with this item and I think it's something that you girls would want in your wardrobe.

It's super pretty and eye-catching.

And the item in question is this dress...

I really love this dress. It's a full sleeve, super low back bodycon dress in a black and white, paint swipe/abstract effect. I am wearing either XS or S in size here, I cannot remember as I tried both. The fit is really good and it's only £14.99.

The downfall to this dress though and the reason why I never brought the dress in the end as much as I loved it, was because the material was seriously thin and under bright lights the fabric became see through.

The dress is backless so wearing a bra is not an option, when I removed my bra and looked in the mirror you could seriously see EVERYTHING including nipple!! This is not what you want to see when trying a stunning dress on. I turned around and the same thing happened in the bum area...You could see my underwear.

I was gutted because there was no way around the situation. I mean if you are comfortable with that kind of exposure. Cool. But I wasn't and couldn't bring myself to buy it and take the risk. If the material was a little thicker it would have been perfect.

I am in two minds now whether to still get it because I had a lot of compliments on the pictures above. I just don't know if I should risk it.

With all this said, it is still a super hot dress and if you can pull it off get it. I don't know what it would be like on a night out because it is dark so you could get away with see throughness. The print is so eye-catching but not seriously in your face and teamed with red lipstick it projects a really classy look.

Definitely my dress of the month purely on appearance!!

SOME OTHER VITALS THAT I PICKED UP :)

H&M Black Bralet.
Brought it for around £12.99 which is a steal. It's a classy bra that would go amazingly under a slinky shirt/blouse.

H&M Knuckle Ring.

Brought in the sale for £2. I love the Aztec style/colouring of this piece.

H&M Sweat Top.

I love their sweat top range they have some really cool designs and they are only £5.99 which shocked me a little as I thought they would have been around the £14 mark. Bargain. I have a couple of these now.

This is in a Size Large.

The fit. Slightly slouchy and more of a lounge piece.

I Love it.

What I Got For My Birthday // The Lowdown!!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

*DISCLAIMER* "I am in no way bragging about what I received/brought for my birthday. I like reading and watching posts like these and I thought it would be nice to follow up from my 'Birthday Wishlist'. Some people are interested in subjects like this as much as I am so I hope you enjoy reading this post and if any of you have post's like this I would love to read/watch them. Leave any links in my comments".

Helloooooaaaa!!!

The time had come to say "hello" to my birthday and "goodbye" just as quickly.

I hate it when that happens.

I get so excited about things really easily and remain that way for months until the day is finally upon me.

Then I get the blues.

So, here is the lowdown of the run up to my day of birth and the actual day I was popped out into the world.

The week running up to my birthday I decided to get sick. I don't know what it was, some sort of bug but all I know was I felt extremely rotten. I had a constant sickness feeling so spent most of my time trying to sleep it off. I went off all food and drink and could barely move. The night before my birthday (6th August) I was meant to be going to the cinema with my brother and then grabbing a pizza after. That didn't happen because I was far too ill to leave the house, so we watched a movie in my room instead until like 2 am.

The morning of my birthday I thought I would wake up feeling so much better. I was wrong, I still felt really rough. My parent's had to practically drag me out of bed to open my cards and presents. I was still excited though! :)

This is what I came downstairs to.

:)

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

My parents always make it pretty downstairs on my birthday. It reminds me of when I was younger and I am a stickler for tradition. In our household it's always tradition for mum and dad to keep things like this a secret and I am not allowed to come downstairs until the morning.

I had mostly money and the couple of presents you see there are off my parents as little 'extra's'.

This is what they were.

SWEETS!!!

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
MY FAVOURITES SO FAR.

My brother brought me THE BEST present EVER. And it was one of the main things I had put on my 'Wishlist' post. I will keep what he brought me a secret until the end of the post as an element of surprise for you!!! He tried to get it for me to open on my birthday but it had sold out everywhere in the shops so it was being delivered into store the next day. I was that shocked I cried a little (plus I was all emotional anyway due to feeling sick. Ha).

Yeah, so I had brought a dress to wear specially on my birthday. Call it my 'birthday outfit'. And it's very different to what I usually wear, it's quite 'girly' for me and it was from Topshop.

I fell in love with it when I saw it. Whether it suited me or not, I am not too sure.

By this point I was feeling a little better. I hadn't been shopping properly for ages and couldn't wait to get out of the house. I went to Merryhill (near Birmingham, UK) shopping centre as all the shops are indoors and it's always been a tradition for me to go there. I even got a free Krispy Kreme because it was my birthday. :)

The first place I ALWAYS wonder into is the Disney Store. I LOVE it in there, I am such a child, I walk in there and wish I had toys like that available when I was younger. Awesome place to unleash your inner child.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Next I stopped off at Lush!! The lady that served me in that store was a little rude, she kept staring at me and made me feel really uncomfortable. So I only brought one thing as I didn't want to stay there any longer. Not like the Bristol and Worcester stores who have super cool staff.

Not long after this I thought it was best to probably eat something as I hadn't eaten for a few days and I was hoping it wouldn't make me feel worse. It actually made me feel a lot better and it was really nice. I went to the food hall where they have loads of different canteens. There was Indian food, Chinese, Greek, Italian, a fish and chip shop and your good ol' faves like KFC and Burger King. I really liked the look of the Indian food so had a Chicken Tikka wrap with 'Aloo fries' (chips). I was going to go for the curry but I didn't want anything to heavy, it was really good, I took half of the chicken out as I am not a massive meat eater. But it did the trick. :)

YUUUMMMMYYY!!

I am now going to show you the rest of the morning snaps and what I brought that day. I didn't actually get as much as I thought I would as I started to flag towards the end of the afternoon. So I still have quite a bit of money left over. When I got home mum and dad put out little bits of party food and then I had my cake. It was a pretty good birthday all in all and I had some nice messages on Facebook and Twitter.

I felt the love.

P.S. Don't forget to take a look at what my brother brought me at the end of this post!! :)

I got a couple of things off my 'wishlist' but when visiting Superdrug to get the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, I came across this brand of makeup, Makeup Revolution to be exact. And apparently they come from the people who created MUA. The prices were great and the man at the till forgot to charge me for the 18 coloured eyeshadow pallete. SCORE. I didn't realise until I got out the store and checked my receipt.

Thanks for my extra birthday present. *Thumbs up*.

The jumper and trousers were from H&M. Most of my clothes come from there, I love the shop although there sizes are real small. They don't size up very well. Anyway, the jumper was in the sale and the velvet textured stretchy jeans were new in. I fell in love with both. Can't wait to wear them!

What I got for my birthday in a nutshell.

Now for the best present of all....

ufhyikhfihfshaodhyeihi (that is how excited I was/am).

YES!!! He brought me the frickin blue Fujifilm Instax Camera!!!

I haven't used it yet as I want to get more films for it, oh and a case and photo album. Seriously though, how expensive are the films!! Lower the price Fujifilm, no one likes overpriced items.

Loved it all!!

P.S. Leo's rule the world!! ;) X
