What I Did For My Birthday | West Midlands Safari Park | Lush, New Look, The Girl On The Train And Sleek.

Oh hi there guys :) 

I hope everyone is okay and well?!

I am totally hormonal and in pain today but it's all fine because I am determined not to let it get the better of me. Instead, today I have been eating pick 'n' mix, watching films on Netflix and have been cuddling my Lion hot water bottle. Ha. 

I really want a job now guys, it really is beyond a joke now. I just don't understand why it isn't happening, I am applying for something new every day and I get zero emails back. Just recruitment agencies offering me awful jobs. 

Anyway, onto the purpose of the post. So guys, I turned 29 yesterday... That number makes me want to be physically sick in my mouth. I am a year away from being 30 years old, what a liberty. When you get older you don't really get excited for your birthday anymore, it's just another day! 

On Saturday ( 6th August) myself and my friend Jess went into Worcester to have something to eat and have a look around the shops. It was such a pretty day, really warm (I was obviously wearing black, as you do on a hot day, ha). We spent around 4 hours there and by the time I got home I was shattered. 

Jess bought me lunch for my birthday which was really sweet of her and I got a couple of things from New Look. 

When I got home on the Saturday I did my usual thang and cleaned Cody out and gave him all of his meds. I then ran myself a bath and used my new Lush Bubble Bar - The Comforter, I put my music on and spent the next couple of hours singing my heart out in the dark. 

Ha, that's how I roll people!!

Sunday the 7th is my burrrfffdaayyy and yesterday was a good day. 

I have to get up early anyway to see to Cody and start his meds at 8 am. I did all my morning chores before I went downstairs, where I was greeted by parents, balloons, banners, cards and presents. 

So cute. 

Check out the Guinea pig birthday card off my auntie!! So freaking cool man!! I am totally framing that!! 

So yeah, I decided this year again that I wanted to go to the Safari Park. I went last year and it was awful, it was rammed and I couldn't get a decent picture as all the animals were being shooed away by the park rangers. 

It was just me, Mum and Dad going this year as my brother was busy. He stayed at home to look after the dog and check on Codes. 

We left about 12 pm and when we arrived at the park we were told that it was packed and it would take roughly around 2 hours to get around the animals. 

I was pretty chilled this year as I bought a telephoto zoom lens especially for trips like this so I knew I could get a good shot from a distance. The weather was beautiful yesterday, it was hot but there was a breeze so it was pretty perfect. 

It actually took around 3 hours to get around the park but it was nice to be able to actually stop and take some decent photes!! 

A couple of things that lets the park down for me is, the animals aren't stimulated enough - their enclosures are basic, minimal and boring. They need things to keep their brain and body motivated. The other thing is when the animals are interacting with the public the park warden's usher them away and that really pee's me off. 

Why?! We have paid money to see the animals not look at grass and seagulls! 

Most of the animals were out yesterday which was super cool, the only ones that weren't really were the white Lions and I really wanted to see them but they always go to the back of the hill when it's warm. I will say, my new lens was freaking awesome yesterday. It worked really well and when I was far from the animals it zoomed right in and produced a really clear picture. I was so happy. 

AND, I actually fed a Giraffe!! I have never fed one before as someone told me once that they suck your whole hand in so it scared me. It didn't and it was really gentle. I LOVE feeding the animals. 

Next year for my 30th I am SO feeding Lions somewhere. It would be a dream come true!! 

It was literally one of the best days yesterday, it was really laid back and fun. I bought a little white Lion teddy and my Dad got me a Lion snow globe. We also did the Lemur walk which was super cute and I managed to capture some really nice pictures. 

When I got home, around 6-6.30 pm I cleaned Cody, took my makeup off and chilled. I ordered a takeaway and had my birthday cake. 

I loved my birthday this year and I was spoilt. I had money off all my family members, Cody bought me a Lush bath bomb - Ha... Okay Mum and mum and dad got me some pick 'n' mix. My brothers girlfriend also bought me some Lush stuff too. 

Everyone knows me so well!!

Loving Sleek at the moment, I wanted to try their liquid illuminator and Precious Metals highlighting palette. I was super annoyed though as I bought these from Superdrug at the normal prices. I went to Boots after and these two were two for £12. I was abso gutted.  

I cannot wait to read this as this has been raved about so much. 

I will finish reading my Cosmo mag then I am on that shit!!

I am totally into chokers currently, bringing the whole 90's feel back.

What I Currently Buy When I Go Food Shopping | Asda | Marks And Spencers | Sainsbury's | My Favourites.

Evening guys :) 

I hope everyone is well? 

I have had such a busy week with Cody it's ridiculous. 

I have been back and forth to the vets and I am literally exhausted now. I will not bore you with the deets again as I am tired of talking about it, ha. 

I will save it for another post.

Oh and it's my day of birth on Sunday (7th) and I actually think I am doing sweet FA. Great. Lol.  

I have decided to do a bit of a different post today as I have been noticing a couple of people on Twitter do similar posts to this one. 

I wanted to do something a little different by showing you what kind of things I tend to buy when I go and do my food shopping. 

I tend to pick up things that I am familiar with each week but also if there is something new out that catches my eye I always give it a try. 

Most of what I buy isn't healthy at all. Whoops. 

C'mon, I am a girl and we like to indulge. Now when I say indulge, I think I can take it to extremes. 

I have been trying to eat better recently, for a while now I haven't really had many take-aways, I don't drink carbonated drinks and I tend to eat a lot of salads. They are my fave. 

So, if you're nosy like me and like to see what people buy in their food shop then carry on reading. 

Lets go! 

Like I mentioned, I do love a good salad, I am picky with what I eat in general but I am currently digging the whole M and S salad thaaang. If you haven't tried the prawn salad you really need to.

I found this in Asda and thought I would give it a try, again I am not really into ready meals but sometimes when you have been so busy you cba to cook. This pepperoni panini is actually really nice. I add jalapenos and Tabasco sauce.  

This is my favourite juice ever, it lits tastes like the Costa Mango and Passion fruit coolies. I have actually mixed this with ice. Beware though, this is pretty high in sugar.  

I tend to drink a fair bit of water, I cannot drink it in a glass really. Always in a bottle. My favourite flavour of this brand is the cherry one but Asda have stopped stocking it. 

 I like to have some sort of yogurt in the fridge for breakfast's when I can be bothered to eat them. I actually forgot to eat this one so I had to chuck it. :( 

I LOVE spicy food, so I always pick up some things with a bit of kick. The hot sweet chilli sauce is amazing and the bhajis are super hot.

If you know me, then you will know I am a massive lover of cake. I have to have some sort of sweet thing after I have eaten my meal. 

I totally love the M and S puddings!! 

Like I have said previously I like salads and I like to create my own and add my Chia seeds into them. I also like to add fresh chilli's to my food and grab some fruit that both me and Codes (my guinea pig) can share. I also buy a load of fruit and veg for him too. 

I tried this dressing on a whim and my lord I am obsessed with it. It's soooo good and great on salads. 

This is THE BEST curry sauce!!! I can actually only get this in a certain Sainsbury's so I grab a couple when I can. 

I buy some sort of ice cream now and then and my weapon of choice this time is these bad boys. :) 

I like to make salad wraps and if there is a fresh roast chicken about I like to add that in too. The pittas are seeded and amazing. I have gone through so many packs. 

I bought these fish cakes on a whim again as I do like the Birdseye ones but I wasn't actually too keen on these if I am honest. I think they have onion in them and I am not a fan of the taste because of that. 

The bottom two drawers of my wardrobe contain my snack food, so usually cake, chocolate and crisps so I like to vary it up when I can. These ones are really addictive. 

These Candy Kittens sweets are my all time favourite. I have only ever tried the Pineapps but they are amazing. When I go to a Sainsbury's I never leave without a pack. 

I HAVE to have chocolate floating about and I like to stock up too because you never know when you're going to need it. Right now I need it a lot because I am hormonal and stressed out. I am loving Lily O'Brien's range at the moment. 

Finally, I like to grab some bits and bobs that I wouldn't usually buy. The above are my current faves.

New L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Purity Mask And Facial Cleansing Oil | First Impressions Review | Are They Worth The Hype?

Hey guys! 

So it's freaking August, I cannot believe it... And I still don't have a job 8 months later. Seriously, thank goodness I saved.

Oh and it's my birthday on Sunday (7th) :)

My mum told me that everything happens for a reason and right now I see the reason I don't have a job. 

My Guinea pig Cody has been life threateningly ill and it lits has been touch and go. A lot of tears, anxiety, panic attacks and sleepless nights. He had to go back to the vets as it seemed as he couldn't eat, long story short, his pneumonia progressed, whilst taking bloods Cody actually stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated so they couldn't check his teeth or X Ray him. 

I brought him home because I knew no one could care for him like I could and if he decided to give up the fight at least he would be comfortable at home. 

He lost a lot of weight, so I have been up constantly throughout the early hours of the morning feeding him every 4 hours all day. 

I am exhausted, I am not going to lie but I am hoping all my care will be worth it in the end. 

And this is where I see the fact I am still job searching as a positive as Cody would of sure passed away as I wouldn't of been around as much. 

This is why on Thursday there was no post as I was soooo tired.

I am back today though with a brand new post for you and something in which I hope you enjoy.

As mentioned above, I have literally had no time for myself properly so, when I managed to grab some time on Saturday to go food shopping quickly, I popped into Boots looking for a couple of things in particular. 

I have really gotten into my skin care routine recently as I am trying to keep my breakouts at bay and currently what I am using is really working for me. 

I have seen people rave about the new L'Oreal clay masks. They have 3 in the range. 

1. Pure Clay Glow Mask

2. Pure Clay Detox Mask

3. Pure Clay Purity Mask

Each of them obviously do different things. I really wanted the Dextox mask as it was charcoal based and I thought it would be amazing on my skin. It's sold out EVERYWHERE!! 

I ended up purchasing the Purity mask as to me that was the next best thing at drawing out impurities in my skin.

I also noticed their Extaordinary Oil - Facial Cleansing Oil too, I don't actually know if it is new in their range but it caught my eye as I wanted something different to take my makeup off. 

The masks are currently on offer in Boots for £5 and the cleansing oil was a little over £5. I had just over £10 of points on my Boots card so I used those to get these items. I also feel like the masks are exclusive to Boots as I cannot find a trace of them in Superdrug which is a little odd as I thought they would be everywhere.

I decided to use the cleaning oil yesterday morning as the night before I used my Garnier Micella water (the blue one) and I felt it didn't remove my makeup properly like the pink version so when I woke up I wanted to use the oil to remove the excess makeup and then double cleanse with my usual wash. 

What I do like about the packaging is that it comes with a pump, there is nothing more annoying than getting a product and it either doesn't come with a nozzle or it's a spritz one. The pump dispenses the product in good manner so you don't end up with too much or too little. 

It glides onto your face super smoothly, it smells really nice and it's for all skin types. It can been used all over the face, eyes and lips. Pretty standard. 

L'Oreal claims that this product -'instantly removes all traces of makeup, even waterproof' and the 'skin is left cleansed and nourished with a non-greasy feel'.

I will be honest with you... I actually quite like this product, it does what it claims to do and it's great as your face doesn't feel heavy afterwards, it left my face prepped for the second cleanse and it felt lightweight, fresh and awake. I will be adding this in to my routine for now on. :) 

It's simple to use too. Put 2-3 drops (I used 2) onto a dry face and massage in. Then you wash off with water. Super simple. 

I would like to see how this works with a full face of makeup, so I will be giving that a whirl. 

Good job L'Oreal! 

After I used the cleansing oil I then dried my face off, had a bath and then popped the mask on.

You apply this again onto dry skin, duh, and avoid the eyes and mouth area. 

The consistency of this product is soooooo frickin lovely, it's creamy, luxurious and a little goes a long way. I love the simplicity of the packaging and even without the discount it's a well priced product. 

Okay, so, the purity mask is 50ml and states 10 applications worth of product. I feel I would actually get more out of it. I have a fat head too, nothing like some pea heads out there ( I wish I had a pea head) - all you pea heads, it should last even longer for you. 

It has 3 different pure clay's and Eucalyptus and you can really smell that when applying. It's a really refreshing, spa like smell. 

The clay's used are...

 Koalin - 'a highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum', which I have a lot of on my nose. You could see it drawing the nastiness out of my skin as the mask started to bubble on my nose. 

Montmorillonite - 'rich in minerals, a clay recognised for helping to eliminate imperfections'. No one is perfect right? 

Ghassoul - 'A pure clay highly concentrated in minerals renowned to help clarify complextion'. 

This mask claims that it 'purifies' and 'mattifies' your skin and it gives a little list of what to expect in the means of results. 

Immediately - skin is fresh, clean and purified. 

Use for one week - skin looks mattified, cleaner and softer.

Use after use - skin can breathe, is visibly transformed. 

Bold claims from L'oreal but I genuinely believe in them. 

After removing the dried mask I noticed my skin seemed a little brighter, reeeeaally soft and not so clogged. 

You know what I mean? It just felt lighter. 

The directions of use is to apply 2-3 times a week and leave on for 5-10 minutes each time, I did 10 minutes. 

I feel these masks are like freaking Pokemon.

"You gotta catch them all". Ha. 

I really want the other two now that I have tried this one. And if in the end it turns out to be a gimmick, hell, my skin feels great anyway. 

I would highly recommend the mask fo'sure and I would suggest you go out and buy them before they all sell out completely. 

As for the oil, I really like the product, as stated, I need to try this on a full face of makeup to see if it works just as good. I will have to let you know on that one.
