Spectrum Collections 8 Piece Eye Set Review | Plus Unicorn Eye Makeup Look.

braids, pastel hair, natural makeup, new look, beauty blogger,

Evening beautiful people!!!!

I apologise now for not posting on Thursday (just gone), I have had an awful week. Cody, my Guinea Pig almost died. He was soooo poorly. It's a real long story which I will save for another day but to put a long story short...

He stopped eating, going to the toilet and I noticed his breathing was awful, he was struggling to breathe and I couldn't understand why. So I was back and forth at the vets, which is a way away from me for almost a week. He had to stay in their hospital twice and is on a lot of meds. Basically, he has Pneumonia caused by his stupid middle ear infection, so it's been touch and go again. If you don't know the full story about Codes you can read it here

So yeah, that's why I have been M.I.A. a lot from social media and my blog. Obviously my little piggy comes first so I hope you understand.

:)

As you have guessed from the title this little post is solely dedicated the the marvellous Spectrum Collections.

"The World's most instagramable makeup brushes."

Everyone has heard of them so I don't need to introduce the brand to you because these brushes are highly sort after.

Spectrum kindly sent me their 8-piece eye blending brush set last week to try out and review, which is super nice of them. I am really grateful.

I did want the marble brushes but unfortunately they had sold out completely. These brushes however are totally cute and totally unicorn themed!!

Well they could be either Mermaid or Unicorn themed, you can decide!!

I love the colour scheme of these brushes, they are so bright and playful and so darn cute!! They are also vegan registered and cruelty free. Can someone give me a "hell yeah"!

They feel sturdy in your hand but also lightweight enough to be able to control the brushes whilst using them.

Can I just say... The bristles... OMG they are SOOOOOOO soft!!! I don't think I have ever felt anything like it, bar from a fluffy animal being rubbed on my face. Ha.

Seriously, you need to feel them!! In fact you can get yours here for £29.99.

Oh wait, what is this? They are currently on sale for £22.99. GO GO GO!!!

When it comes to trying out new brushes, I really do have to get used to them. Once I have been using a set for a while and then swap to a new one you have to get to grips on how to handle them.

Crikey it's sounds like I am trying to tame a beast. :D

My first challenge was trying to work out which brush does what. They brushes themselves have a letter and number code on them but not a titled name. To find out, you have to go onto their website.

Me, I just winged it and used them for what I thought would suit certain areas of my eye.

spectrum, spectrum collections, makeup brushes, morphe palette, makeup geeks, beauty bay,

I actually really enjoyed working with these brushes. I think the fact that the bristles are so soft really helped with the blending process. The only thing I would say is that because the brush heads are pretty dense but fluffy, when applying the shadow it will pick up the product but it takes a couple of attempts to build the colour up. Other than that I really enjoyed using them.

spectrum, spectrum collections, eye brushes, beauty bloggers, blending brush,

I wanted to create a whole makeup look surrounding the theme of these brushes and to only use these brushes obviously on my eyes.

This is what I created below, I took the pinks, purples and blues of the brushes and adapted these onto my eye look.

Spectrum, I hope you like what I have created with your fab brushes!! Thank you again for your kindness!

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes | Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette Review.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Hello my little bee's!

It's the end of the bank holiday!!! For me it's been an eventful one to say the least and not in a good way.

Friday, Papa Hutt started my car which he had left in gear previously (which I have told him to stop doing) and oh what is this?! Yep my nice, shiny car goes slamming into the side of our house!!! Oh yeah, my front bumper needs replacing. I was upstairs at the time and felt my room shudder and I heard pops shouting "noooo, noooooo NOOOOOO!!!" Lol.

Obviously I wasn't happy but it was an accident and he was absolutely gutted so I didn't want to make him feel worse. I am gutted though because I have never damaged it and I am still paying the car off.

*Insert sad face here*

So, I hope your bank hol has been a lot better than mine. Ha ha.

Today I am presenting you with a step by step on how I clean my makeup brushes with a little review thrown in.

Aren't you lucky!

C'mon lets be honest, cleaning our makeup brushes is a serious ball ache. It's not riveting in the slightest, especially for me anyway. It takes forever to get all the grubby makeup off the brushes, then the drying process takes forever. For me it's a major chore. Is it for you?

I thought my hands were doomed until I found this little contraption, but is it actually any good?

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

My usual regime to clean my brushes involved my hand and the shower head pinned under the taps of the bath (don't ask). I would then proceed to clean. It took FOREVER!! I  mean snore!!

I had seen that Real Techniques recently bought out this brush cleaning palette and it really caught my eye. I took the plunge and I bought it.

Is it any good? Is it worth the money? Does it save time?

Yes, yes and yes.

I LOVE this palette A LOT.

I love Real Techniques anyway and have lots of their brushes so I was hoping it was going to live up to my expectations. It has a handle on the back to slide it onto your hand so it sits securely.

It really did. I will be honest, I am not a fan of the cleansing gel that came with it as it didn't remove any of the makeup off my brushes, just moved it around. Is this the same for anyone else?

So I just stuck to my usual cleansing method ( I will explain in a minute).

This palette removed the makeup off my brushes so quickly I was actually sat in the bathroom talking out loud at how impressed I was. It has saved me SO much time and it cleans each strand thoroughly!!

I am genuinely impressed.

There are three different sections with three different cleaning nibs. I just whirl mine around all three to ensure everything is off the brush.

This little beauty retails at around £12.99 in Superdrug and I am so glad I have bought it, okay it's a bit of bendy plastic but lets be honest if you're prone to skimping on the cleaning then you NEED this in your life.

It's affordable and does the job well.

HOW OFTEN DO I CLEAN MY BRUSHES?

I used to clean my brushes once in a blue moon but now I do it once a week to ensure everything is clean and germ free.

WHAT DO I USE TO WASH MY BRUSHES?

There are a lot of cleansing products out there on the market, I have tried and tested a couple and they haven't really worked for me.

What I have tried and it works, is to add a drop of Fairy Liquid and a drop of Carex antibacterial hand soap onto my brushes and it cleans the brushes beautifully. It has never harmed my brushes either and it's cheap.

Score.

HOW I CLEAN MY BRUSHES - ROUTINE.

STEP ONE - Cleanse

I start off by adding the cleansing products to the palette. Simple as that.

I then rub my brush into the liquid dry and then add the water.

STEP 2 - THE WASH

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk
leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

This step is pretty self-explanatory really. I just swirl my brush around and rinse and then repeat that process until the brush is absolutely clean. With this palette and the amount of foundation I carry on my brush this takes around two attempts.

STEP 3 - DRYING

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

To dry my brushes I don't have anything fancy I just line them up against my wall on kitchen roll with the applicator facing down to allow the excess water to drain.

And that's basically it really.

My routine is pretty simple but I just wanted to show you that you don't need an expensive cleaner to wash your brushes with, just household items are sufficient enough. I also wanted to prove that you can get something pretty decent from the drug store as a tool to clean your brushes.

Let me know your thoughts, do you have this palette, if so what do you think? If you don't have anything like this I would seriously give it a go, it won't break the bank and it's such a time saver.

Well played Real Techniques. Well played.

Nanshy Professional Makeup Brushes | Review & Why You Should Invest.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

Holllllaaaa :)

What a gloomy Monday it is!!

Talk about April showers living up to its name today, I kind of like these types of days though, it has a cosy vibe to it. And lets face it whilst job searching those 'cosy' days are becoming more apparent. Ha.

Oh FYI - the image above I did that myself free hand with makeup. A lot of people thought it was either a snapchat filter or done on a computer. Nope, that was my first attempt on my own. It needs perfecting though. :)

Okay, so whilst makeup is obviously very important to a look that you're creating, so are the tools that you use. Now, I am not going to lie I basically used to use my hands to put my foundation on and to apply my eyeshadow. *Cringes*

Come on, we have all done that right?!

Over the last few years, I have really become passionate about makeup. I mean I have always been an avid fan of the coloured stuff but more so now and I could never get bored of it. Personally I don't think a girl could ever have enough or 'too much' makeup. I get so excited when I get new makeup and makeup brushes are no exception.

I have always wanted the Zoeva Rose Gold (that figures) collection, both face and eyes but as of yet I haven't got them.

Another brand that I REALLY wanted was Nanshy. Now the first time I heard about them was when I was watching Emily Canham's video's ages ago and I fell in love. She really raved about them and I was sold completely.

Nanshy pride themselves on producing extraordinary tools that are animal cruelty free and vegan friendly. Ace right?! Not only that their products are super well made and such good quality especially for the price which is really competitive. They are amazing for beginners as they are super versatile and they are championed by top bloggers/YouTubers and MUA's alike.

I got my 'Masterful' set at Christmas just gone!!! Yes, I waited a long time. My parent's obviously read my wishlist and ordered those bad boys. And they are so beautiful.

leluroxx.blogspot.co.uk

I went for the white handles to match my room. Ha. Everything has to coordinate.

I am currently affiliated with Nanshy and after reading this post, if you fancy getting these for yourselves you can use my exclusive code LELUROXX10 for 10% off your order. It's also free delivery on orders of £20+ and you can choose a free gift on orders of £30+.

You can order here.

You can buy sets or you can order the brushes singularly in either black or white handles which is awesome!

The brushes I will be showing are the singular brushes just so you get the gist.

N/B - I was sent the single brushes the other day as I am working with them (affiliated) but this post is not sponsored I am doing it because I love the brand a lot, the set I am featuring was bought and I just wanted to share my love for these brushes and maybe you might fall in love with them as much as I did.

This is the Buffed Base RO1 face makeup brush. This has been on my 'NEED' list for months. I was so excited when I received this!! This can be used multiple ways, for instance you can use it to apply highlighter or you can use it to apply your foundation. If stippled it gives your base a flawless, streak free and full coverage look.

I have to say as well, all these brushes are super soft which can be difficult to find when using synthetic brushes. Well played Nanshy (as she rubs all the brushes over her face).

Here we have the 'Precise Bent Eyeliner' EB01 eye makeup brush.

This is amazing for people who struggle applying liquid or gel eyeliner onto their lid. The bend in the brush enables you to work the liner how you want it which in turn leaves you with an effortless winged look. Thumbs up.

These are the Blending Eyeshadow EB04 and Eye Crease EB05. As you are all aware I LOVE working on my eyes, I have currently been doing all my eye looks with 1 Barry M brush, so I have done pretty well! Now I have lots of eye brushes so hopefully my looks will appear more flawless.

These are the 'Flawless Foundation FO1' and the Conceal Perfector PO1'. The foundation brush is perfect for liquid foundation, sheer powders and blushers. These brushes are dense but are soft and have a lot of movement which is perfect when trying to use them for different applications. The conceal brush has a tapered tip to get into those hard to reach places to blend foundation, concealer and even tinted moisturise.

Win win all round. They are freaking amazing!!

The 'Masterful' set is what I really wanted at Christmas as it had an awesome blend of face, eye and lip brushes so you had the best of everything.

The single brushes that were sent to me really make this collection for me. I don't think I will stop until I have every single brush. They are amazing!!

I have only tried a couple of the brushes but I LOVE them so I know the one's I have been sent are going to be amazing too.

Eeekkkk I cannot wait to get all that fluffiness on my face!!!

I hope this has helped you if you are looking into getting some brushes whether you're a beginner or a professional.

I will only ever give my 100% honest opinion. :)

Until Thursday...

Love
